These are changing times and the change from conventional wet photography to digital is unstoppable. The snag is that sometimes photographs taken away in the past start to go wrong. They fade, or have been in sunlight, or there has been some kind of degradation of the image. A couple of past clients have asked me to help them. The pictures to the left show a picture that has gone wrong and the finished article after I have worked on it.
To do this I scan the negatives, produce a digital 'negative', carry out the dodging and tonal adjustments and print onto just the right tint of paper - to completely match the original. As long as you have the negatives do get in touch with me and I will make your pictures as good as new.
For other pictures that need restoration it is also possible to make them look as good as new as well. I can take out tears and fold marks, reinstate colour, change back to genuine black and white, reprint to canvas and generally recover any treasured family heirloom to all its formal glory - and make copies for you. I can also reproduce whole albums of pictures if required. Of course I will need the originals here in my studio to do all this.
Remember that I can blow any finished picture up to absolutely any size, and I print on archival fibre based heavyweight paper with pigment inks that have a lightfastness of over 80 years.
