Our children grow up quicker than we would like them to! My portrait photography and family reportage service is a way of keeping a permanent souvenir of your children or family at various stages of their lives. I specialise in traditional black and white portrait photographers giving pictures an ageless quality. I carry out the photography at your home in your environment, and usually I also take a series of more informal photographs, which can include you and your children, whether lazing about indoors or playing outside, with and without assorted pets and animals, in colour or black and white.
My specialist natural, reportage-style wedding photography records every moment of the whole day. Whilst some couples and guests may feel uneasy with a photographer intruding into what is of course a private event, I take great care to stay in the background. One of the most common pieces of praise I get is a big thank you for not getting in the way or being too bossy.
I will take pictures throughout the celebration without using a distracting flashlight, making everyone feel relaxed. This results in the photographs having a beautiful clarity of quality and natural feel to them, as they are often taken without the wedding guests or family members knowing the camera is pointing at them. My wedding service includes taking unlimited pictures, proofing of images in 7 days, producing either a traditional wedding album containing 60 prints of your choice up to 14 by 9 inches, or a hand made and bound photobook, plus a CD of the entire set of full size, high resolution proofs for your unlimited use. I know that I am a different type of photographer to many others. I am a totally extrovert person who just loves life and I hope that this site is slightly different from the run of the mill photographers web pages. I think that the pictures tell a story - we had so much fun taking them! Have a good click around and enjoy what you see on your exploring.
I love meeting people, but they may not love my camera. Be warned that I may be with you for some time to get that relaxed and natural photograph. The children must accept me and take me into their confidence. However the actual photo session of formal portraits (if that is what you want) may only take twenty minutes. The late Henri Cartier - Bresson said "only take portraits for twenty minutes - after that the subject and the camera become dull and uninteresting". Then with their help we can make great pictures for you.
My pictures are not contrived nor planned in advance. I do not use funny mottled backdrops or props, nor do I muck around on the computer creating simply ghastly photographs. Your photos will be in focus, not over exposed and verticals and horizontals will be just that - vertical and horizontal. If a picture is not good enough, you will never see it.
Fees start at £285 for the days shoot at your home and production of proofs to view online in the client area, on DVD or CD. Prints range from £26 to £105, with sizes upto 24 ins. by 30 ins.
